This is an exciting project. Thanks for sharing.
I went looking to find out how the trains would be fueled. I didn’t come across anything.
I went to the following websites and was intrigued by the maps on the ohio hub page.
http://www.ohiohub.org/
http://www.gcbl.org/ (This is an amazing website-check out the spirit section☺)
The maps show alternate routes either through Alliance/Salem or Warren/Youngstown. What a shame it would be to have to “get” to Salem to take a train to Pittsburgh or Cleveland. It seems like the Warren/Youngstown route would be the logical choice but I have no idea how fast Alliance and Salem are growing. I do know that Salem is experiencing growth from the Pittsburgh region… This is certainly something our community needs to keep updated on. I recently heard a statistic (LOWV breakfast 1/19/08) about the region between Cleveland and Pittsburgh being completely populated in x years. I don’t remember the number but it was shocking.
Some of the documents posted have passenger ridership projections for 2025- (where will our fossil fuel availablitiy/consumption be then? scary to think).
Our society needs to experience a radical mindset shift away from personal transportation to using public transportation… Just one of so many shifts we need to be advocates for. Peace.
